Following a recent management buyout, CEO Colin Lomax announced the official launch of Platform Entertainment, at the star studded World Premiere screening of its own production, Age Of Kill in London’s West End.
Unveiling the new corporate identity, Lomax who led the buyout from US media giant Starz Media’s UK distribution arm Anchor Bay, said the new name reflected the modern media landscape: ‘We thought we would have a name that was a bit more contemporary and reflects the media we are distributing on, which includes everything from TV to DVD, digital and cinema.’
The premiere screening, which was attended by the film’s stars including Martin Kemp, Patrick Bergin, Philip Davis, Lucy Pinder, Dani Dyer and director Neil Jones generated widespread coverage in outlets including the Daily Mail, Daily Express and film press. Speaking about the future, Lomax talked about the strong strength of the company’s upcoming slate, ‘We have a lot to look forward to in 2015. We have a strong slate of our own productions launching throughout the year headlined by Age Of Kill, a great line-up of big-budget television product in Black Sails and Olympus, a fantastic library of titles to work with and our Biggest ever year on Manga to look forward to. Platform Entertainment is an exciting place to be. We have a great team here who are working with our partners to bring some of our fantastic content to the market.’
